2017 Carrus Tauranga Open

Join us this April at the 2017 Carrus Tauranga Open!

Now in its 10th year the Carrus Open is the flagship event of the Jennian Homes Charles Tour. Designed to help with the development of elite Professional and Amateur Golfers this tour is viewed as their pathway on to the world stage.

Danny Lee competed in the Carrus as an amateur in 2008 and Ryan Fox along with former winner Michael Hendry have also been down this pathway. Two-time winner Josh Geary will be back for an attempt to join Mark Brown as a three-time winner. Locals will never forget Brown scorching around the Gate Pa course in a record breaking 59 in 2015.

The Carrus Open is the 5th and final event of the Jennian Homes Charles Tour and along with the Carrus Trophy there will be an award for the order of merit winner. The Tournament kicks off with a Pro Am on the Wednesday when the doyen of New Zealand Golf Sir Bob Charles will play the first shot to open the Tournament and also play in the Pro Am. Spectators are welcome to come and follow Sir Bob around the course.

The Tournament proper gets underway on Thursday morning with a field of 125 men and women competing. After the second round on Friday a cut is made and just the top 50 men and 12 women will play the final two rounds over the weekend.

Make sure you come down to the Tauranga Golf Club between 19th - 23rd April to support the high-calibre of Golfers competing in the Jennian Homes Charles Tour.
